Water Wanderings 2023 Family Camp
“There’s camping and then there’s camp, and I wasn’t sure coming in if it was going to be like camping or camp and the workshops were amazing…what makes it feel like camp is having the families and to see the kids having joy…for me that was hugely successful”
"I also liked to have that openness…I feel like if my kids need a break, I can take them. No pressure to be doing everything all the time."
"I like to play"

Water Wanderings 2022 Session I
"I really liked fishing, catching it and then eating it. Learning how to catch and eat your own food" - WW Camper 2022
"Most camps I go to, it's like a big group, but I really liked the small group. You get to know everybody and learn each other’s skill sets."
Family Camp 2022
"I like making new friends" WW Youth Camper 2022
"We ate way better than we would have eaten if we'd been doing this by ourselves" WW Parent Camper 2022
"I feel like this sense of opening or rediscovering this part of myself that really longs for that connection with other moms. And something about being in camp... those moments while you're washing your hands or chopping food to connect on really what I feel like is a soul level...It's very nourishing, it's also very tender, because it feels really hard to be a mom right now in many different ways. Current events wise, and just everyone has so much going on in their families and in their lives. And I feel a sense of real empathy...and I also feel really held and understood. I've been loving all the time that our kids have gotten to spend with other kids. And the ability for them to go away from us for a little bit and then come back and go away and come back. Like I don't have to send him away all day long. That seems like a lot. But he can have a little space with you (Lindsey) and Sonya. We trust you so much in so many different ways. And it's not just that we trust you to keep them safe. We trust your mindset and your philosophy and the way that you talk to them. Which is really hard to find. I would say we are very, very picky about who we would send our kids with, even for like five minutes." - WW Parent Camper 2022
Water Wanderings 2022 Session III
"I like being a bear because that means you get to cook the food" - WW Camper 2022
"I really like it here. It’s an amazing experience for someone that lives in a city...it’s...a very good introduction…into camping and nature. It’s a great experience to sit and take in that you can live here. That this is amazing compared to if you live in a city and there’s a bunch of cars and you can’t really be like ohm." - WW Camper 2022
"I’ve made a lot of strong bonds with friends and stuff here. In the wilderness it’s a lot easier to do that. It’s quieter, without us yelling. I’m definitely going to stay in touch with a couple of them." - WW Camper 2022

Water Wanderings 2019 Session I
"She had the best time with you this past week. Last night, she was filled with stories, riddles, laughter and energy in a way that we have never seen before - and smelled like campfire! She has learned some excellent skills with her time at Water Wanderings and is a new person because of it. As she grows older, we feel it is important to provide her with opportunities where she can learn from mentors (other than family) and develop her own sense of self - I feel like Water Wanderings helped her with this development." WW Parent, 2019
