Water Wanderings 2023: Our biggest summer yet.

We are excited to open registration for our 2023 summer camps! Water Wanderings is offering four camps in total this summer for families, 9-12 and 13-15 year olds:

Family Camp I (July 1-5)
Youth Camp age 13-15 (July 8-16)
Family Camp II (July 20-25)
Youth Camp age 9-12 (July 31 - August 5)

More guest teachers....

We are excited to include more guest teachers in camps this summer, a programmatic shift we piloted this summer with Eric Nuse (pictured above). Campers loved fishing with him and counselors enjoyed the additional support. If you have recommendations for guest teachers or are interested in being a guest teacher or assistant guest teacher, we'd love to hear from you!

Longer camps...

Building off the success of last year, we are doubling the days of camp offered from last summer with two family camps of different lengths, an eight night camp for 13-15 year olds and a five night camp for 9-12 year olds. The additional time in camp will allow us to delve deeper into our curriculum, build stronger relationships and reduce stress for parents with a weekend pick-up.

Introducing updated sliding scale

With the guidance of our board, Water Wanderings made significant changes to our sliding scale this year to account for rising costs and the need to transition to sustainable staffing. We remain committed to ensuring that campers of all backgrounds can attend and welcome financial aid requests if the sliding scale does not meet your needs. In recognition of racism in outdoor recreation and environmental injustice, Water Wanderings prioritizes campers who identify as Black/African American, indigenous/Native American, Asian, Arab, Latinx, multiracial, or people of color in our allocation of financial aid.

Many thanks to our 2022 donors, whose contributions allowed us to create a more affordable sliding scale than would have been necessary otherwise.
