I hope you're doing well! Summer is upon us, and we have some exciting updates and opportunities to share with you from Water Wanderings. Firstly, our founder, Sonya, started off the season today with a Year End Studies class she is teaching at Burlington High School called "Paddling the Lake Between." Over the next two weeks, Sonya, her co-teacher, and sixteen students will paddle, swim, play and explore Lake Champlain and its surroundings through the lens of environmental justice. Now, let's talk about our summer camps. We are offering four camps this year: youth ages 9-12, youth ages 13-15 and two family camps. These camps create opportunities for personal growth, outdoor exploration, and unforgettable memories. We still have openings in all the camps and would greatly appreciate your support in spreading the word about Water Wanderings. Together, we can expand our community and provide more people with the opportunity to connect with nature and embark on a journey of self-discovery. We welcome campers from of all identities and backgrounds, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can offer financial aid beyond the sliding scale for families who need it. Thank you for being a part of our community. With gratitude, Sonya We're thrilled to welcome Mel and Cal as camp counselors for this summer and expand our board with Lilly, Blair and Niki, and have Barry join the advisory council. Please join me in welcoming them! You can read their bios here. Lindsey, who served on the advisory council last year and also as a family camp counselor last summer, is helping us design a new logo. We're so grateful for her - email us back and let us know which logo you like! Thank you to North Country Federal Credit Union for providing a generous grant to support guest teachers and public workshops this summer with Water Wanderings camps. Stay tuned for details!
