Meet our 2024 Staff

Beloved Counselors are Returning!
We are thrilled to announce that our 2023 couselors for the 13-15 session are all coming back to support our 2024 camps! Mel, Cal and Damascene (from left to right in photo above) were all new to Water Wanderings last summer and learned a lot, guiding the campers through one of the worst floods Vermont has seen since Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. Their intrepid attitudes and camaraderie were key to the success of our camps last summer and we're so excited that they've decided to return. If you'd like to join these wonderful humans this summer, it's not too late to sign up for camps!

Bio Sneak Peaks

• Damascene Niyongere is an adventurous youth leader and student at Saint Michaels College. He will be a counselor this summer. 
• Melisha/Mel Fulmer (she/her) loves the outdoors and working with kids while also showing her ability to “get down on their level.” She will be a counselor.
• Cal Lord (he/they) is a Long-Trail backpacking guide, and a nature-based educator at The Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington. Cal will be a counselor this summer. 
• Keith Sampietro is a seasoned outdoor guide with decades of experience working with youth. He will be a guest teacher in all our camps this season, teaching fishing and survival skills.
• Sonya Buglion-Gluck (she/her) is a Restorative Practices Specialist at Hunt Middle School and the Founder and Executive Director of Water Wanderings. She will be a family camp counselor.
